How to download mods for Minecraft Forge

Reaction score
Before I start this tutorial I'm firstly going to say that you need forge for this to work, if you don't have it you can download it here

Hello Omega Realm community

For those of you who would like to use mods that are allowed on this server like Mini-Map, Potion GUI, Gear HUD, FpsMod, PingMod, and other things like that, I'm going to be showing you how to download and use them.

Firstly you want to find some mods you would like to use. Here are some mods I use for 1.8.9

Cords-Mod, it will show you your cords without having to use f3

Custom Cross Hair, it will give you a cool crosshair in the middle of your screen instead of the normal +

Now let's get on to how you download them

Firstly you need to click download, once you have done that a thing will pop up on the bottom of your screen that will look something like this

Once you have that you want to click Keep, all though there could be a risk of downloading it, I have never experienced it so it should be fine to download it.

Once you have done that you want to click on the ^ like so after that click Show In Folder then you want to open up AppData by doing as followed firstly click the magnifying glass

Then type %appdata% then type Enter

You will then see something like this if you're on Windows 10

You then want to double click on .minecraft once you click on that you will see something like this if you don't have a mods folder then right click on some empty space in the folder and click New then folder

After that make sure you name the folder to mods once you have done that click on the mods folder, it will then say "This folder is empty" all you need to do from there is left click the mod and drag it into the mods folder like so once you have done that, just click on your Minecraft icon then click Launch Options

Then click on Add New and scroll down until you see Forge then click on the up arrow beside Play, select Forge then click Play

Once you have done that, all you need to do is type /coordsmod [for cords mod only] now you can fiddle around with the settings

This is a great tutorial! I already knew how to but I’m sure it’s very easy for newbies to understand!
