My mother bought an iPhone 5S and after updating to a newer iOS, it got super slow. Which doesn't really happen too often with my phone at all. But at the end of the day, it's an opinion whether you like Apple more than Samsung or the other way around. Imo Apple is good, but I find Android/Samsung just a little more reliable.

And almost any iphone uses the same basic OS. The main reason apple is usually the most dominant is because of how simple it is and how its advertised to the mainstream consumer at the same time making bank from it. Samsung is the same thing. Samsung uses a modified version of the Android software (which is open sourced and can be used and modified by anybody) and call it TouchWiz which looks awful IMO and the features really lack. The phones are also ugly as sin to me. iPhones look sleek mainly because they're made of mostly glass which can be broken easily. Each company has their pros and cons but to me Apple has more cons than Samsung. But I prefer neither phone.

I've been an Apple user all my life, but it's features are limited due to Apple's user-friendly tendencies. I will without a doubt eventually switch to Android once my iPhone5s is un-usable, especially given the price differences.

ALTHOUGH, I will give iOS some credit since Safari is great.

When it comes to phones, apple has the edge in my opinion. When it comes to computers however, I have to say that apple is absolutely trash and overpriced.

For me, it's always been Apple. I've only used a smartphone for three years, and it's always been an iPhone. However, I've used Android tablets and the OS just doesn't feel as fluid. Although, I must say iOS 10 kinda destroyed how fluid and logical things were. Hopefully iOS 11 can improve and bring better features.

When my iPhone 5s dies, I probably will still stay on iOS because I don't want to have to rebuy apps and reconfigure my music on iTunes to Google Music. Plus it looks like they may actually be getting better with the iPhone 8 rumors.
